What Causes Pain Under Rib Cage After Drinking/smoking While Having Gastritis?

Hi. I usually wake in the morning feeling a little pain on the right side of my body (under my right rib cage but above my pelvic bone) I usually get anxiety from this and I'll start noticing pains in other places. I suspect my digestive health has gone bad. I've had a colonoscopy in the past (2010 to be exact) Doctors diagnosed I had minor gastritis but told me nothing was really wrong since then I have drank and smoked here and there but as of recently drinking just a couple of beers has made me feel this way on my right side. Is there any insight or advice that can be given here?

Hello,

As per our experience in dealing such cases, it indicates underlying liver changes from alcohol consumption giving pain under right side rib cage.

It is mandatory to get ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis for further guidelines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
