What Causes Pain Under The Ribcage In The Left Side?

My mother has had a pain in the middle of her left side this past Monday, under the rib cage, that was terrible enough to go to ER but no kidney stones as were suspected, no issues with blood work and nothing on CAT scan. Since that day pain is still there but has subsided, but a low grade fever ranging from 98.7 to 99.7 has persisted each day up until now. Appetite has improved since Monday, no nausea. Energy level low, but better than it has been.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history related to your Mother about having pain in the middle of her left side under the rib cage since Monday. CT scan normal, no kidney stones, blood work normal, The pain subsided but there is low grade fever, appetite improved, no nausea, low energy level.
The cause looks to be flu causing costochondritis hence all the investigations are normal.
I would advise you the following for your Mother.
Give her analgesics round the clock, plenty of oral fluids to avoid dehydration.
Bed rest helps a lot in such a condition.
Warm compresses over the inflamed part. Oral steroids if everything fails will make her recover faster , under the guidance of a Doctor.
