My baby is crying to get urinated. A week ago he had Septran antibiotic for pus cells in urine. He recovered well and a day back he showed symptoms of sam, though not confirmed. Any suggestion as to how this infection came? How it can be cured. Now he is having temperature.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Its common for babies to cry when they start to urinate. If crying persists throughout urination, and there is fever, this might suggest urine infection. Here, the best test is urine culture. Infection can be cured if a sensitive antibiotic is given for minimum 7 days.

Also, its better to do an ultrasound done to look for any urinary tract anomalies predisposing for infection. Your pediatrician might have discussed this.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
