What Causes Pain While Urinating?

when urinating I stopped suddently and it hurts. This happens every so often. I also have the feeling that I need to urinate all the time when this happens. I don't know if this is part of the problem but when this is happening I feel like I have to move my bowels. This could last a couple of hours or a couple of days?????
