My symptoms are: painful urination, frequent urination, worse when moving, pain is consistent even without urination in clitoris area, sudden urgency to urinate, urinalysis showed occult blood, wbc or equal to 60, 2 plus luekocyte estrace, trace protein. have treated with septra ds 5 days bid and 6 doses of pyridium and 3 doses of doxycycline 500mg. symptoms still not changed much
Hello Thanks for query .Based on the symptoms that you have you have Acute UTI which has not responded to antibiotics those were prescribed to you ,This is likely to be due to causative organisms bacteria may nat be sensitive to the antibiotics that you have taken .
In a given situation you need to do your routine urine test and urine culture to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
Take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urinary antispasmodics like Flavoxate urine alkalizer thrice daily .Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.
Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.
Ensure to drink more water .To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
