What Causes Painful Urination While Suffering From Diverticulitis?

If have previously had episodes of diverticulitis, some requiring antibiotics, some cleared up with a diet of clear fluids. At the moment I have had pain in my left side for approx 36 hrs., have been having fluids only and the pain tends to range from a 6-8. Time for a medical check? No abnormal bowel issues this time however pain when urinating.

Hello,

Yes, you need to visit a nearby doctor for your medical examination. You need to investigate with urine routine microscopic examination and ultrasonography abdomen investigation. It seems to be again diverticulitis infection.

You need to prescribe an antibiotic course and take a soft and bland diet. Avoid the intake of excess spicy foods. Drink more water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami,
