What Causes Painful Urination With Stomach Problems?

My boyfriend has been having this stomach pain for a couple months now. Just 2 weeks ago he has had a stinging sensation when urinating. Went to the doctor which they say it sounds like kidney stones but did blood and urine test and test came back saying nothing to worry about. Now he still has a stinging urination and stomach problems. I am fine, no discharges or anything. What could this be?
