What Causes Palpitations And Jaw Ache While On Levothyroxine?

I used to take .75mcg of Levoxyl, and 1/2 a tablet on Sundays, until this year, when I ve changed my insurance allowing only a generic Levothyroxine, no co-pay for a 3mos supply. I just started this new insurance this year,(Senior Dimension) in January 2017. After several blood work, doctor reduced it to .50mcg, 2 weeks later brought me back to .75mcg. Since then I ve been experiencing severe palpitation or fluttering of my heart, my head feeling like its going to explode , can t do 15min thread mill (used to be 45min) my jaw hurts, what to do, my next blood work is on February, 2018. I feel like I m going to have a heart attact, tired all of a sudden! Help! I am 78yrs old.

Hello dear,Welcome to HCM.I read your query and understand your concern.
Pounding heartbeats or fluttering in your chest are side effects of levoxyl .osage of Levoxyl is individualized. Levoxyl may interact with lithium, amiodarone, antidepressants, or radiation therapy with iodine. Many other drugs can interact with Levoxyl. Tell your doctor all prescription and over-the-counter medications you use. There are other drugs that can be taken while taking Levoxyl, but they must be taken 4 hours before, or 4 hours after taking Levolxyl. Consult your doctor
