What Causes Patches On The Anus?

My husband had small raw pink patches on his butt crack that have developed to red and bloodied and have spread all the way down his crack. He is going to the doc tomorrow morning, but I was wondering if it sounds like a staph infection, fungal infection or something else. He doesn't shower daily and had had the symptoms for two weeks.

Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, the given symptoms of skin appearance could be due to fungal infection and it can be well managed with Miconazole ointment.
As long as the skin lesions or the disease are concern it always needed clinical examination if not responded to give treatment, it may be allergic condition, it may be bacterial infection and according to that treatment being suggested, so sometime local medication given that contains antibiotic, antifungal, and steroid ( Erythromycin, Beclomethasone, Miconazole ) it can be tried too.
hope this information helps.
