What Causes Persistent Chest Pain Despite Taking Percocet In A Heart Attack Survivor?

I had a heart attack last week. I was sent home with extreme upper chest pain that has rendered me pretty immobile. I ve been allowed to take percoset for pain, but it s not working. While at the hospital, dalated didn t work all that well. I don t know what to do. I went back to hospital, but since they couldn t find anything else related to my heart, they released me.

GET AN ECG DONE URGENTLY, IF POSSIBLE GET A TROPONIN I BLOOD TEST ALSO DONE. ECG WOULD GIVE CLUES ABOUT UNDERLYING CARDIAC CONDITION. IF THERE IS NOTHING ON AN ECG BUT YOU STILL HAVE CHEST PAIN, GET A COMPLETE CARDIAC EVALUATION DONE INCLUDING ECG, 2D ECHO AND CARDIAC ENZYMES BLOOD TEST ALONG WITH A CARDIOLOGIST CONSULTATION

Note: For further follow-up it is advisable to consult an emergency medicine specialist. Click here.
