General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that he might be having bacterial respiratory tract infection.
He might require one course of antibiotic medicine like Azithromicin 500 mg once a day for 5 days.
Lozenges and cough syrup gives temporary relief from cough.
Avoid cold drinks and junk food.
Ok and take care.
