What Causes Persistent Cough Only At Night?
I have sinus drainage during the day. I do cough some during the day but at night it s unbearable. I cough to the point of gagging! I ve tried cough medicines. They work about two hours then i m up hacking again. I ve elevated my head, rubbed vicks vapor rub on my chest and bottom of my feet, had a humidifier installed on our heating unit....on and on I could go. The sinus problems usually start every October or November and the horrible cough starts in January. I m sick all winter!

This type of unbearable cough , particularly in the night may be due to bronchoconstriction ( caused by some allergens like , dust, mite , pollen , fumes , smoking , sudden rise and fall of temperature ) .
When such patient visit I advise my patient to take montelukast+ bambuterol tablet once in the night time .
Hot coffee and steam inhalation also provide instant relief .
Since this is a prescription drugs , so please consult your physician for prescription.
