What Causes Persistent Cough With Breathlessness In An Elderly Person?

My Dad has been feeling unwell for months. He s 75 years old, not overweight, not diabetic, no heart problems. He had a kidney stone a couple months ago. He s anemic, exhausted all the time, has a hacking cough and breathless. He had a colonoscopy and scope down his throat this morning. Nothing was found except for a hyatal hernia. He was a smoker but hasn t smoked for probably 30 years.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, you have not mentioned the clinical condition just said not feeling well and it does not create any sense as long as the medical advise is concern and it is to be given, what ever the condition he has that needs to be managed accordingly if ever has some clinical symptoms else it is the geriatric condition and it is nothing to worry in absence of symptoms hope this information helps.
