How can u get your doctor see that u have so many issues and all he wanted to do was to shove medicines at me and not getting to the bottom off the problem like i have shortness of breath coughing all the time for the last since 1997 he wont send me to a lung speciality i switch doctor i amgetting the same treatment
Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. In my opinion you should consult pulmonologist and get done 1. Chest x ray 2. Pulmonary function test (PFT). Chronic cough with breathlessness is seen commonly with asthma and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). So chest x ray and PFT are needed to rule out above causes. PFT will also tell you about severity of the disease. And treatment is based on severity only. So PFT is must. You may need antihistamine and inhaled bronchodilators. So better to consult pulmonologist and discuss all these. First diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment. Don't worry, you will be alright.
