What Causes Persistent Left-sided Hip Pain After An Oophorectomy?

I had an oophorectomy to remove my right ovary two weeks ago and have had constant pain in my left hip since. My surgeon insists that they re not related, but it feels like I pulled something in the hip joint and I would have remembered doing something that painful if it happened while I was awake. Is it possible that they manipulated my leg while I was under anesthesia in such a way as to cause damage to the hip joint?
