Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
The last few months I have been having severe leg cramps in my calves and feet every day. What could be causing this. I noticed that it seemed to happen after my back surgery. I had a lamnectomy. I have had foot cramping my whole life periodically but worried that it is now happening every day and the cramps in my calves is unusual for me.
Cramps in calves with history of spinal surgery can be related to: - Nerve compression at some level of lower spinal cord - Deficiency of zinc, calcium, B12 or other elements. - Peripheral vascular disorder involving blood and nerve terminals circulation - Secondary effects of smoking if involved
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
