What Causes Persistent Nausea?

my husband is 52 years old. He has a history of thyroid cancer (14 years ago) and parotid gland cancer (16 years ago). he has been cancer free for 14 years. He has multiple other health conditions including high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes type 2. Lately, for the last 2 months, he has had bouts of nausea and vomiting. It first happened when he was taking his daily medications and he immediately became nauseated and vomited. We associated it to taking his medication all at once or maybe swallowing some air with the meds. However, it happened, at random times, several more times in the next few weeks. Now he does not vomit as often but he is nauseated almost every day. I cannot connect it to anything he is eating or doing. His appetite is fine except when he is nauseous.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted that your husband has history of thyroid and parotid cancer and he is free of cancer for the last 14 years. But he takes medicines for high blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes and has started with nausea and vomited initially. His appetite is good except when he is nauseated.
The possible causes are:
Gastritis with GERD that is gastroesophageal reflux disease.
This can be tackled with a PPI like Pantoprazole, anti-nausea medicine like Domperidone and see the results.
If effective continue for a week or two, if no effect, get an upper GI endoscopy done to see the cause and get treated accordingly.
