What Causes Persistent Pain Above The Right Eye?

Severe ice pick pain above R eye/forehead. First pain 2 wks ago, only one horrible pain lasting 5-6 seconds. Last night awakened with the horrible pain again lasting 5-8 second 7-8 times, then resolved. No h/o headaches ever. 74 yo with excellent health. Was diagnosed about 10 years ago with acephalic migraines which just manifest with christmas tree- like flashing gone in 2-3 minutes with no pain once or twice/yr. Retired PA.

Hello,
There is something called an ice pick migraine and that is possible. However, at the age of 74 I suggest that you see a doctor for a complete neurological exam. If there are any abnormalities you may need an MRI of the brain.
