What Causes Persistent Wheezing After Quitting Smoking?

Hello, (I'm 42yr old Female) I quit smoking a year ago and every since I have had problem with wheezing and it won't go away. I thought it was just the "clearing out" from quitting but it's still going on. My doc gave me an inhaler albeuterol? and it helped, but it's still there and I don't want to keep using an inhaler forever! This quitting smoking was supposed to be a good thing and I have been miserable since! What's going on?

Hello
I believe you were a chain smoker for a long time till you quit. Smoking causes black tar deposition in the lungs which causes reduction in your lung capacity so you are taking only less air through normal respiration thus the lungs are being exerted more to get the extra air to keep body tissues oxygenated.
You have to do cardio exercises including walking, jogging and take green tea along with it so that your lung is able to get more air and increases the vital capacity.
