What Causes Phimosis And Yellowish Penile Discharge In A 5 Year Old?

My 5 year old is uncircumcised and not fully retractable. Tonight he showed me that he can not retract as far as normal (we couldn t even see the glans, we can usually see most of the top of it) and he had some yellow-green discharge. His glans seems slightly swollen but he doesn t seem to have any pain unless we try to retract beyond where he wants to stop. He admitted that he has not been retracting to clean for nearly a month. Balanitis? I ll be calling his doctor in the morning.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is balanitis/balanoposthitis with phimosis.

Rx: Circumcision is indication after resolution of infection.

If you neglect, it may prone for recurrent UTI and renal scars. So go for circumcision.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
