Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
So I had a few pink spots in my stool, which is the first I ve seen, I m 25 with diabetes and heart problem so it s a concern, I had blood drawn a week prior and a artireal stick to check for keystones in my blood and it came back normal, I just had high cholesterol, should I be worried?
Dear-pink spots could be occult blood in the stool, which is very important that you have an evaluation to find out the reason for it. High cholesterol does not give you this problem. When you have occult blood in the stool we should consider different possibilities; colon polyps, infectious cholitis, non infectious cholitis as Ulcerative and Crohn, bleeding diverticuli. That means that you should be evaluated to find out the reason for it.
