What Causes Pins And Needles On Arms With Painful And Tingly Joints?

For last few mornings I have woken up with pins and needles in my left arm. It feels cold to me but it doesn t feel cold to touch. It feels weak for quite a lot of the day and making me very worried. I am also experiencing painful joints but this is probably unrelated. As I write this, my arm feels weak and tingly. Thank you

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear patient
Tingling and numbness on one side with weakness is mostly due to nerve compression at cervical spine level. As upper limbs including hand is supplied by nerve roots arising from cervical spinal cord , compression due to disc prolapse or any other reason leads to weakness in hands. So you need to be investigated with mri of cervical spine with screening of whole spine. MRI gives details of disc, nerve roots and conditions of joints. So it helps in confirming diagnosis and guides proper treatment. Need to visit neurologist with mri report.
