What Causes Poking Pain In Throat?

Hi I put a sewing needle in my mouth to hold and then felt a poke like pain in my throat and pulled it out but the pain wouldn't go away, I had many needles out at the time then when cleaning I found one that was broken, I think I may have accidentally swallowed it? My throat still hurts but the pain migrated from one side to the other then i could feel something slide down and knew that the pain moved and it did, if I have swallowed the needle could it be stuck in my throat and what do I do?
