Hi, I ve been sick for about 4 weeks now and don t have medical insurance. It s faded a lot but still hasn t completely cleared up. Symptoms include: lots of post nasal drip and all the fun that goes with it soft upper pallette in mouth is sensitive some difficulty swallowing jaw joints & around my ears feel stiff sometimes back of neck a bit sore Doc checked me out and found that I had a high temperature and throat was red & swollen, but didn t perscribe me any medication beyond a decongestant. Hi,

Noted your history having pain in throat, congestion, stiffness of jaw joints and around ear, neck muscle problems, post nasal drip and so on, Doctor prescribed only decongestant.
Since you have no insurance I would advise you the following:
Decongestant nasal drops 3 to 4 times a day followe by steam inhalation.
Ibuprofen in proper doses and duration if it suits you.
Decongestant tablets to be continued.
Take rest.
Avoid fumes and dust.
If this does not help then you may need a prescription based antibiotic.
Also use povidone iodine gargles as instructed on bottle.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
