What Causes Pregnancy Symptoms With Negative Result In HPT?

hi yesterday was my first day of my cycle but i had missed it and then this morning i took a pregnancy test and it was negative and i have been having a few pregnancy symptoms since october 11th and i was wondering when should i take the test again and did i take the test too early?

I can understand your concern.

Pregnancy symptoms with negative HPT, it could be due to the following reasons:

1. HPT may be negative with the late morning urine sample

2. May be you are not pregnant: Many pregnancy symptoms that your are experiencing could also be due to "premenstrual symptoms" same symptoms that you experience when you get your monthly period.

3. You might have done HPT too early.

3. Sometimes excessive desire to have baby can also cause pregnancy symptoms

In view of the above, do the HPT on an early morning urine sample as it is
is more concentrated so more chance of diagnosing pregnancy early. And if it is negative, please repeat HPT with an early morning urine sample after 5 to 7 days of previous test .

In case of doubt blood beta hCG test and and ultrasound scan will be of help.
