What Causes Prolonged Fever Along With Appetite Loss And Night Sweats?
My husband has had a fever since July 1. Today its been 101+. He s been to dr twice and to ER once for lab work. Flu test, strep, chest xray all negative. WBC on Monday - 19 More lab work on Thursday - WBC down to 12. Loss of appetite, night sweats, belching, sensitivity in top and side of head. Any thoughts?
Hello I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
Long standing fever, loss of appetite, night sweats are signs of chronic disease like Tuberculosis/auto immune disease/malignancy.
I would advise you to undergo certain tests like X ray chest,USG Abdo, blood test for autoimmune antibodies. I recommend you to consult internal medicine specialist for detailed medical history and proper physical examination. Further management depends upon the cause. Healthy diet and adequate body hydration required for general well being. Try to give him small frequent and well cooked semisolid food as there is loss of appetite.
Hope I answered your query. Wish him good health.
Thanks and regards.
