What Causes Puffiness And Pain On The Arm After Inserting IV?

My 19 year old daughter had an iv in her right arm, after a few days it is still puffy and she cant straighten her arm witihout it hurting terribly. she goes to physical therapy and cant use it fully either, and they suggested she have it checked. her right leg has started to hurt as well, what may be causing this?

Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to side effects of the iv injection. I suggest using cold compresses at the area of the pain.

I also suggest maintaining the arm elevated. I suggest using Ibuprofen to relieve the pain. The symptoms will go away gradually.
