What Causes Purple Bruise Like Markings On Inside Of Lip?
I noticed about a month or so ago, that my lower lip suddenly had two purple bruise-like markings towards the inside of the lip. Do you have any idea what would cause that? There was no injury at that time and I'm not one to usually bite my lower lip. Thanks!

The purple bruise like markings on the inside of the lip can be because of the ecchymosis secondary to lip biting or any trauma. The other possible cause can be a mucocele secondary to lip biting. Nothing to be panic, consult an oral physician and get it evaluated. If it is an ecchymosis, it is a self limiting condition, but if it is a mucocele, then it has to be surgically removed.
