What Causes Rash On Arms With Piercing Pains?

I have a rash that started on both arms last night. I have researched shingles but not sure if my symptoms. All pictures I have seen are only in one general area. This is on both arms. Some piercing pains are in a few spots mostly on the top of my hands and wrists I did move some firewood last night and wonder if it is a reaction to something in the wood. Thank you Denise

Hello,

I can understand your concern for rash on arms with piercing pain.

Let me first reassure you that your rash is not related to shingles as it is present on both the arms. In shingles the pain is present on one side of body along with multiple grouped blisters on that area with seer non-tolerable pain.

If I were your dermatologist then would have suggested to take oral anti histamine like loratadine under medical advise along with a pain killer such as paracetamol. Do not scratch or rub the skin as it can lead to further aggravation.

All the best.
