What Causes Rash On Jaw Line And Behind Ears Which Is Peeling And Itchy?

I have a strange rash like places on my jaw line and behind my ears on my head. first a small red place appears, then the skin peels within the spot...it doesn t hurt but it s kinda itchy. At this point I have one place behind each ear, and (5 total on right & left jawlines) about 5 total on my jawline what could this possibly be?I work outdoors & i always try to wear sun protection lotion.

Hello,

As per your case history, you are suffering from Seborrheic dermatitis. My treatment advice is:

1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply an antifungal cream like Clotrimazole cream twice daily on affected skin.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral Fluconazole, Itraconazole and Terbinafine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
