Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
a couple of months ago my 12 year daughter had what looked like hives on her forearms and had been there for a couple of weeks. I took her to the doctor and she said it was scabies and gave her a cream and told me how to treat her room. It was not in between her fingers and they really didn t look like some of the pictures i have seen of scabie bites. Some were small and some were big. They lasted for another week or so and went away. Since then the same spots have com back plus on the lower part of her legs and a little on her face. The ones on her arms stay but just get lighter in color. The ones on her face just actually started last week. She went to school and they appeared and then two days later they went away. The teachers at school said it looked like a allergic reaction. And i agree. they went away on her face after applying cortizone cream and a benadryl. The ones on her legs and arms have faded in color but are still there. What could it be?
Thanks for the query. Let me know , is there any itching, association with certain types of food, has some teeth caries. Also send me the photo for better diagnosis. If there is itching and hives come and go suddenly then it might be urticaria. Ask your doctor giving tab. levocetrizine or tab. avil for few days.
