What Causes Rectal Bleeding In Stool?

My daughter has blood in her stool almost every 2 stools for the past month. I changed her diet around several times and it's still appears. I do admit that I need to increase her fruit intake which I haven't been doing every day so I just started that this morning and would like to see if anything changes. However, if it doesn't, should I get a stool sample and have her doctor test it to see if it's another issue?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Blood in stool may be due to fissures, fistulas or hemorrhoids.

Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Give high fibre diet, do regular exercise and drink plenty of water.

If symptoms do not improve, you can use syrup lactulose according to the body weight.

Please consult your physician who will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
