What Causes Rectal Bleeding?

Hi, I came to the USA last month and had problems relating to anal cleansing since in my home country we clean our bottoms using bidets and washlets and dry using toilet papers but in the USA there are only toilet papers. I use a bowl of water when I m home but when I m at college I can only use wet wipes which don t clean as much as water. I have vaginal bleeding and brown discharge after I use the toilets at college.( I never had this problem before ) I have also realized that I have rectal bleedings too since there is blood on toilet papers when I wipe. I don t know what to do??!! And I m really worried...

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The cause of rectal bleeding seems in concern with possible hemorrhoid or fissure. I recommend to get checked with a consultant surgeon for the diagnosis by proctoscopy examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
