What Causes Rectal Pressure, Sticky Stools, Gas And Stomach Rumbles?
Hi,for the last 3weeks I have been having like a pressure feeling in my rectum, messy stools involving a lot of wiping, sometimes passing a lot if gas maybe 50times in a day,and stomach rumblings,I ve has a stool test and blood tests done no sign of bacteria,I am 29yo male.also suffered heartburn for 3years which I take omeprazole for. Any suggestions? Thankyou.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Pressure in rectum, ruling in abdomen, lots of gases in presence of normal blood and stool indicate IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome and you are already taking Omeprazole for the last three years for heartburn. I would advise you the following: Upper GI endoscopy. Colonoscopy. CT scan of the abdomen. If these are normal then get treated as a case of IBS. If any disease is found during investigations, get a specific treatment and you will be fine.
