My son has had a low grade fever of 100.3 to 100.8 for the past 3 days, it s broken a few times with fluids and tylenol, but eventually keeps coming back. he has had a headache, and now his troat is sore, but looks fine. I thought it was a virus, but it s lasted since Monday. Any ideas?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

If lasted beyond 72 hours, it is better that you get his throat examined with your pediatrician, as this might be a streptococcal pharyngitis needing antibiotic treatment. Meanwhile, make him drink enough fluids and a soft diet.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
