What Causes Recurrent Fever?

Thank you, My 8 year old daughter has had cold-like symptoms for about 6 or 7 weeks. She has had a reoccuring fever, usually low- grade (around 100.5). Last week she started to complain of her ear hurting. I took her to a walk-in and they gave her amoxicillan, and said she had a sinus infection and the start of an ear infection. This morning her cold-symptoms are back with a vengance and her fever was 101.5. She is on the last day of her amoxicillan. Do I need to take her in to a Dr. again?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks and welcome to healthcare magic.
Your history suggests that she maybe suffering from middle ear infection, usually takes more time to control about 5-7 days.
The drug of choice is Amoxycillin +clavulanate.
In girls for any chronic fever urinary tract infection may be ruled out.
You need to take her to doctor and also for ENT consultation.
Hope this reply is OK for you.
PLease feel free to ask further queries if any.
