What Causes Recurrent Mood Swings After Having Periods?

Hi, I am 44 years old and my last menstrual cycle was the first week in December. I have been having mood swings but no other symptoms that I may be experiencing menopause. I am the mother of 4 healthy children and my youngest is 15. I have had 3 miscarriages within the past 2 years. Do you think it s likely that I am pregnant again? Or could I be going through menopause? I make 45 next month.

Hi,

Mood swings can happen commonly in females nearing menopause.

You can consult a gynecologist and consider hormone replacement therapy (HRT) which has got good results in postmenopausal symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
