What Causes Recurrent Spotting, Cramping And Bleeding In An Elderly Woman?

For two and a half months, I have been spotting, stopping, then again spotting and bleeding (bright red at times Have been checked by two different gyns. A biopsy was performed, not enough material to test. Walls too thin, for a Proper sample. Cramping and bleeding seems to increase with small clots sometimes. I am 88 yrs old, Gave birth to 6 children in my lifetime.

Considering your age and the symptoms you are complaining of, you need to be evaluated throughly.
You need to undergo following investigations.
1. PAP smear.
2. Endometrial biopsy.
3. Ultrasound scan of the abdomen and pelvis.
Kindly consult Gynecologist with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.

Vaginal bleeding and passing clots in an elderly women needs to investigated in the following manner.
1. Per vaginal and per speculum examination.
2. PAP smear.
3. Endometrial biopsy.
4. Ultrasound scan of the abdomen.
Kindly consult Gynecologist promptly for clinical evaluation and appropriate management. Treatment can be instituted only after confirmation of the underlying cause.
