What Causes Recurrent Thigh Pain?

Thigh pain above knee this pain comes and goes. And usually the pain started after I touch or squeeze the area. I’ve been having this pain now for 2 months and I stoped my birth control 2 months ago because I was worried this could be a blood cloth. If it were a blood clot would the pain come and go for this extended amount of time? Are these symptoms I am experiencing sound bad ? Should I go have this checked ?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It can be a neuropathic pain. A blood clot is unlikely and you can consult a neurologist and get evaluated. You can go for a Doppler scan to rule out clots. As of now analgesics like acetaminophen or tramadol can be taken.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
