What Causes Recurring Fever In A 5 Year Old?
5 yr old granddaughter has had recurring fever from 101 to 103.8
during the day she is up feeling good took her to the doctor said mortrin for fever may last 2 weeks took test for strap office test said negative but havent got lab results yet, she said her leg hurt and her head i have noticed online a lot of people who have children with same symtomes all different ages and some of them said their children have had recurring fevers for 3 months what can i do to help her? thank you

She could be having recurrent viral illness. Will tell you what it is and when to worry. In this way you will be able to know when to worry and visit a doctor.
Fever of few days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually rather than fever, what is more important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about duration if the kid is active.
You can treat fever with Paracetamol at 15mg/kg/dose every 4-6th hourly if fever is > 100F. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever as usually most combination medicines combine Paracetamol with NSAIDs and is not advisable.
