Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurring Lung Infection With Severe Pain Upon Deep Breathing?
I ve had lung infections in the past to wich the doctors wasn t sure why. A lung specialist told me was consistent with plurasy. Most mornings I get awful pain and very deep aching the point breathing hurts. My lungs feel like they are cemented down. It calms down throughout the day. Mornings are the worst.
It definitely sounds like pleuritis, which means the infection also affects the pleura (outer layer of the lung). Nothing to worry about, but take some pain killers so that you can breathe normally.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
