What Causes Recurring Sickness And Ear Infections In A Child?

My 4-year-old son keeps getting sick since starting preschool in April. He gets sick, recovers, and then after 2 weeks, gets sick again. He has had ear infections twice already. I ve taken him to see his pediatrician 4 times since April. Should I be insisting on some tests to determine if there is anything more serious going on?
