What causes a person to have Urinary Tract Infection, continuosly. Medicine helps for a while..comes back, has had test done, they find nothing. When she had her last child, the doctor had stitched a part of her colon and stomach together where she had problems going to eliminate for a year. Which she got appendicitis that is how they found this mistake. Could this may be the underlying cause of UTI? Just trying to find some kind of help for her.
General & Family Physician, Dr. Asad Sami's Response
Hi I have gone through your concerns.
Suturing stomach with colon doesnt cause recurrent urinary tract infections. She may have some anatomical abnormality which is causing recurrent urinary tract infection. I would have done ultrasonography or computed tomography or intravenous urography to find its cause. I would suggest to have hygeinic methods for cleansing after having defecation ie not to touch vagina and anus at the same time at washing.
In my opinion she should meet a urologist for further work up
Thanks. Wish her good health
