What Causes Red And Inflamed Inner Thigh?

Today while I was at work my inner thigh turned red and was flaming hot to the touch. The red color clearly started on the inside above my knee. I have had a DVT 9 years ago and have an IVC filter in place but do not take blood thinners any longer. Is this soething I need to get checked soon?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you may be having thrombophlebitis of thigh veins . You can take analgesic such as diclofenac for pain relief. Thrombophobe gel application locally will be helpful. If you have fever also then antibiotics can be started. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
