What Causes Red Bumps On The Head With Watery Eye?

My 4 month old boy has a mild reddish left eye and tears/ watery alot. Some crust, but we think is normal. It s been like this for three months! Is this a blocked tear duct or something worse? Also, we just switched from a crib to a pack and play for sleeping arrangements for baby boy, since then , we ve noticed red bumps/ pimples on his head only! He will have them for up to five days, then they go away on there own, almost like bug bites, but don t think they are. Is it possible bumps are allergic reaction to new mattress/pack and play? Thanks - jake

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, you don't have to worry. The eye discharge is due to narrowing or blockage of nasolacrimal duct, you need to massage the nasal bone near inner part of eyelids for 1 to 2 minutes 5 times a day and it will gradually improve in 2 months. Secondly, the red rashes appear to be allergic, you have to change cushion cover and it will be fine. I hope this has helped you. Wishing your child good health. Take care.
