What Causes Red Spot On The Face Of An Infant?

My 6 month old son has had a red round spot on his face for a few weeks now. I have tried putting Aquaphor on it but it doesnt seem to help. It sometimes looks like it is getting better but then appears again. Sometimes it looks like it could have dry flaky skin inside it but then sometimes its just red. What could it be?

Hi,

Most likely, this a hemangioma. Better not to try any OTC applications before confirming, as hemangioma might get irritated to cause bleeding or scar.
