What Causes Red Spots In Colon?

I had a colonoscopy on Monday 10/19 and I still have diarrhea after I drink or eat anything. The doctor took quite a few biopsies and said there was a lot of red and irritated spots in my colon. What could this be symptom of and should I still be having such bad diarrhea? Thank you. Sally Oden YYYY@YYYY

Hi thanks for asking question.
You have red spot over colon on colonoscopy examination. So possibilities of mainly colitis can be there.Sometime it may be because of amebic infection colitis. There may be possibilities of early inflammatory bowel disease.
If it is infective cause then antibiotic can be taken for few days.
If it is because of inflammation then antiinflammatory drug will be helpful like steroid.
Meanwhile maintain your hydration state with more water and ORS.
drink fruit juices and semisolid diet.
Avoid heavy meal and fatty fried food for few days.
Your treatment will further be decided according to biopsy report.
I hope my suggestion will help you.
