What Causes Red Spots On Upper Mouth And Back Of Tongue?
I have had all the symptoms of coxsackie for 12 months now. I have been seen by many physicians and none of them have figured out for sure what this is. I feel fine but keep get repeating red spots on upper part of inside mouth and throat. I have been on fluconazole 100 mg, for the past year for these symptoms. they appear and last until I take the fluconazole and then disappear. several days after stopping fluconazole they come back. any idea what is going on.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that red spots at the upper mouth and back of tongue that can also be inflamed tongue papillae can be due to causes like viral infection while can also be due to allergic reaction and recurring episodes of exposure t the allergen can lead to red spots inside the mouth.. It can be due to any food or medication..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Pathologist and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and advise investigations like Microscopy of the scrapings from the lesions, oral and throat swab culture and complete blood picture along with allergic tests to rule out the exact cause of the recurring symptoms and treat accordingly..
As of now you can do warm saline gargles and it there is pain or soreness due to spots you can gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine.. Take multivitamin supplements..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
