What Causes Red Swollen Bleeding Gums?

Hi,
I recently took my 3 year old son to the doctor. He has a viral infection in his throat and puss on his tonsils. I noticed yesterday that his gums are red, swollen and bleeding. Is this because of the viral infection and is there anything I can do?

Thanks for contacting Health Care Magic,

Read your query .The redness and the swollen gums and bleeding is because of the viral infection which will gradually subside in a week .

To reduce the symptoms u can apply Mucogel on the gums twice or thrice daily.
Avoid spicy food and keep the child's oral hygiene good.

If it still persists after a week or so you can consult the doctor concerned.

Hope this answers ur query and your son will be fine soon.

Thanks and Regards.
