What Causes Red Swollen Bubble On The Nipple Of A Child?

My 5 year old daughter has a red swollen bubble on her nipple. it appears to be filled with pus. when i touched it she said it was sore but also itched. It has gotton worse over the last 3 days. Just left a message for her primary doctor. Any idea as to what this could be?

This could be mastitis or localized skin and soft tissue infection called pyoderma.

She might or might not require an antibiotic, but I suggest you upload an image here so that we will be able to guide you better.

Skin conditions are always best diagnosed and treated after direct visualization.
